Ambil is a liquid pasty form of amazonian plant prepared by Indigenous tribes of Colombia. They take fresh leaves and cook them in fresh water over a wood fire for 12 to 20 hours. The taste, consistency, strength, and texture may vary with each batch, which is normal with indigenous tribes. They make medicines slightly different with every batch, depending upon availability of natural ingredients, season, climate and humidity.
The Ambil is placed on the tip of the pinky finger – the finger of humility, and rubbed on the teeth, gums, or tongue. It is advised not to swallow the Ambil, but to let it dissolve in your mouth as you process with it in prayer. You can take Ambil just before your Rapé session or other medicine ceremonies. Ambil is grounding, cleansing, clears your thoughts, opens your heart and throat chakra, and connects you to Spirit with a very masculine energy. Some people have reported using Ambil before bed to encourage and deepen lucid dreaming states.
Ambil is often used in the presence of mambe, and the union of these two plants clarifies and sweetens communications and makes us more sincere in our dealings with one another. The combination of ambil and mambe represents the sacred union of the Father Creator, represented by this Amazonian plant, and the Mother Earth, represented by the leaf. Ambil alone also encourages positive, insightful conversation.
Our Ambil is from the Mururuii tribe in Colombia territory, made and prayed by Taita Libardo. It comes in a glass container. Each container has approx. 40 ml
