Born and raised in Colombia, Maria is the founder, visionary, and steward of The Journey Back to Soul. Her path has led her into years of study, relationship, and apprenticeship with ancestral traditions of the Americas, including time in the Amazon learning from Shipibo-Konibo elders and traditional healers, as well as mentorship within the Comcaac tradition of the Sonoran Desert.

Founder, Visionary , Steward and Guide

Born and raised in Colombia, Maria is the founder, visionary, and steward of The Journey Back to Soul. Her path has led her into years of study, relationship, and apprenticeship with ancestral traditions of the Americas, including time in the Amazon learning from Shipibo-Konibo elders and traditional healers, as well as mentorship within the Comcaac tradition of the Sonoran Desert.

Maria sees herself as a bridge between the elders and Indigenous teachers who have generously shared their knowledge with her and a Western world seeking to remember its relationship with ceremony, nature, and traditional wisdom. Through The Journey Back to Soul, she carries forward the medicines, sacred objects, teachings, and tools entrusted to her, with a commitment to reciprocity and respect for the people, lineages, plants, and lands from which they come.

She is the visionary behind the Journey, the steward of its relationships, and the keeper of its flame. Her work is an ongoing offering to create a bridge between worlds while honoring the wisdom that has traveled through generations to reach us.
