These custom Shipibo Altar Cloths, also known as Mantas, are hand made by Mama Kushi and Lucy from Oni Nai. In the Shipibo tradition, the women create hand-embroidered textiles that are said to represent their “Icaros” , traditional medicine songs with elements of the spiritual landscape of the Shipibo people. These depict Amazonian Master Plants, guardian animals, jungle spirits and mystical patterns brought forth for healing and protection by the force of Grandmother medicine. The small size is 8 in. and the Medium is 10 in.
